Keep The Stadium
When I heard Mayor Faulconer suggest we demo the stadium and build a new one I just don't get it. This stadium is fine. Do some remodeling if you have too but keep the Stadium. If the City needs some income then sell some of the parking lot and redevelop it.
It is short sighted to build a smaller facility. With the Chargers out of the picture and a pretty good Aztec team I would expect the crowds to grow. When SDSU had Don Coryell the place was packed. I think it can be again if marketed correctly. It could be that last push the SDSU needs to be a contender on the national scale. Big crowds would certainly help recruiting.
We already lost the Chargers let’s not lose the Holiday Bowl as well.
This facility is already built and it is solid concrete. It is not going to fall down. Its also a great design and functions well. Dress it up a bit get some better food. It is a great place to see a game. If it needs some work get it done remodel it.
Actively try to get an MLS team to play there. It was good enough for the NASL and the Sockers drew crowds. Soccer could certainly work here and It is odd a team is not here yet
Try to get other events here put a committee together and make this work
It's a San Diego icon part of the fabric of this city.
